Chowning tailors her advocacy to each of her clients’ needs in a variety of business matters. She is a seasoned litigator with experience in individual and class actions involving intellectual property, partnership and contract disputes, securities and derivative cases, and employment matters.

Chowning has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America, 2025 Edition, as well as by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Northern California Super Lawyer in 2023 and 2024, and as a Rising Star every year from 2017 to 2022. She has been included in San Francisco Magazine’s Top Women Attorneys in Northern California from 2017 to 2021. Chowning is an active member of the legal community. Since 2018, she has served as a director on the board of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Northern California. She is also co-chair of the ACLU North Peninsula Chapter which advances and protects civil rights and liberties in San Mateo County.
