Billy is the Managing Partner of the firm. His practice covers business transactions, commercial contracts, and outside general counsel services.

Billy is an active member of the legal community. He is a Past President of both the Asian American Bar Association and the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California.

Mark is a Partner and Head of Litigation where he leads the firm’s litigation matters in the areas of trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks, founders' disputes, and commercial litigation.

Mark has been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as one of the Top 100 Northern California Super Lawyers for five consecutive years (2020-2024), and has received the Super Lawyers distinction every year since 2015.

John brings over sixteen years of HR, employment, and workplace law experience to the firm, from advice, counsel, and training to class action litigation.

John most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of Avellino, a biotech startup company in Silicon Valley, where he was responsible for Legal, HR, and Operations that spanned the U.S., Japan, Korea, and China.

Chowning tailors her advocacy to each of her clients’ needs in a variety of business matters. She is a seasoned litigator with experience in individual and class actions involving intellectual property, partnership and contract disputes, securities and derivative cases, and employment matters.

Chowning has been recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America, 2025 Edition, as well as by Super Lawyers Magazine as a Northern California Super Lawyer in 2023 and 2024, and as a Rising Star every year from 2017 to 2022. She has been included in San Francisco Magazine’s Top Women Attorneys in Northern California from 2017 to 2021.

Tyler's practice covers business transactions, contracts, and outside general counsel services.

Tyler has gained experience working with companies of all sizes, ranging from start-ups to professional sports organizations and billion-dollar companies. He is also an active member of the legal community as a member of Filipino Bar Association of Northern California, Charles Houston Bar Association and Sports Lawyers Association.

Margo is a litigator with experience in complex business matters, including privacy, cybersecurity (data breaches), and class actions.

During law school, Margo was an active leader with associations, clinics, and journals covering business law, intellectual property, Internet policy, public interest law, and civil rights. Margo served as Vice President of the McGill Business Law Association.

Gabrielle is an associate on the firm's intellectual property and business litigation team.

Before joining Chan + Punzalan, Gabrielle gained experience in transactional and litigation matters, focusing on trademark and domain name disputes and enforcement. She also dedicated her efforts to pro bono legal work at Start Small Think Big, where she helped find legal services for start-ups and developed educational materials on legal issues affecting small businesses and entrepreneurs.

Erik serves as the firm's legal assistant and provides general administrative office support assisting all attorneys with various projects and tasks ranging from records management, inventory of office supplies to filing legal documents and helping prepare for trial.
