Mark Punzalan,
Partner & Head of Litigation

Mark is a Partner and Head of Litigation at Chan + Punzalan where he leads the firm’s litigation matters in the areas of trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks, founders' disputes, and commercial litigation.

Mark has been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as one of the Top 100 Northern California Super Lawyers for five consecutive years (2020-2024), and he has received the Super Lawyers distinction every year since 2015. The Daily Journal has also recognized Chan + Punzalan as one of the Top Boutique Law Firms in California.

In addition to managing the firm's litigation matters, Mark teaches trial and litigation skills at Stanford Law School's Trial Advocacy Workshop, and he is also the co-author of “Employee Mobility in California – Trade Secrets, No-Poach Agreements, Non-Solicitation Agreements” in the Practising Law Institute’s (PLI) treatise on California Employment Law.

Mark also currently serves as a Board Member in various nonprofits and organizations, including the Judiciary Committee for the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF), BASF's Justice and Diversity Center, and the Asian Pacific Alumni of UCLA. He has also previously served as the President of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley (APABA Silicon Valley), as the President of the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California (FBANC), as a Regional Governor of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), as the Chair for BASF's Judiciary Committee, as a Co-Chair for the Judiciary Committee of the Asian American Bar Association, and as the Chair of BASF's Small Firm Committee.
